An Update from the Building Committee
On Tuesday, Chris V., Jim K., John L., and Melissa M. met with John A. of Clancy & Theys, our general contractor, for a project milestone and schedule review. Here is where things stand.
A project schedule has been published. The team is working toward DD drawings from the architects by May 22nd, which will be used to produce an initial cost estimate for the exterior of the church. Final drawings are expected by August, with any remaining changes incorporated by September in preparation for the building permit submission to the City of Raleigh in December. The city is expected to issue the permit in January 2027.
Clancy & Theys will be soliciting three bids per trade, and all proposals will be reviewed by the building committee. A page-turning meeting with the architects and construction group to walk through the preliminary drawings is tentatively scheduled for May 13th.
On the site engineering side, the mass grading permit has been submitted to the City of Raleigh, with a target start date for site work of October.
The new church committee will meet again on Tuesday, May 12th.
We are grateful for your continued prayers and support as this work moves forward.
