The holy table stands at the altar’s sacred center and at the heart of the Church’s worship. Here the Holy Mysteries are celebrated, and here the Church’s offering is made before God for the life of the world. Final design may vary.
Fashioned in wood and crowned with marble, the pangari offers a place where the faithful obtain candles and make offerings as they enter into worship.
The pulpit gives appointed place to the Church’s public preaching, setting the Gospel and its interpretation before the gathered faithful within the nave. From here the Word is not spoken privately or in passing, but addressed openly to the assembly, so that the Church may be instructed, exhorted, and formed by what she has received from the Apostles. Framing the threshold from narthex to nave, a pair of devotional candlestands offer the faithful a place to venerate the holy icons and light candles.
The bishop’s throne gives visible form to the apostolic continuity of the Church, expressing the bishop’s place within the assembly as teacher, overseer, and living sign of the faith received from the Apostles. More than a ceremonial seat, it manifests the enduring order of the Church and the bishop’s ministry of preserving unity, guarding the faith, and shepherding the people of God in the fullness of worship. Positioned on either side of the solea, the Chanter’s Stands give voice to the Church’s sung prayer, drawing the faithful more deeply into worship.
